January Event Round Up

Gluten Free Events at Gluten Free Specialty
  • Recipe submission January 1st to January 31st: Get out your healthy gluten-free recipes and submit them in person, by mail or by email for a chance to win GF Specialty Coupons: (1) $10 GFS Voucher, (1) $25 Voucher
  • January 22nd: Saturday at 2pm - One Dish Combo Meals: Nutritious Grain, Bean and Veggie Meals with Mary Mieth. For more information on Mary go to Dancing in the Kitchen
  • January 29th: 11am to 3pm - Cereal Sampling - Not sure which cereal is your favorite? Now's the time to try out which breakfast cereal works for you

  • TBA: Gluten Free Diet for Beginners with Dietitian Meghan O'Hara. Interested? Show your interest by sending an email. You'll be informed when a date has been set.

  • Sacramento CSA Support Meeting, Sunday, January 16, 1:00 – 5:00 pm. They will be carpooling to Placerville to hear Mark Holthouse, MD, speaking on “Medical Follow-up For Celiacs.” Meet at ***1:00*** pm in the north parking lot of St. Marks United Methodist Church. Experienced celiacs, please bring a gluten-free snack to share (we ask that you include your recipe and/or package, to help those who have additional food sensitivities
  • Restaurant outing, Tuesday, January 18, Citrus Heights, 1:45 pm 7 Sisters, 8493 Auburn Boulevard, Citrus Heights (exit at Riverside from Highway 80). 7 Sisters has a separate gluten-free preparation area and features gluten-free pizza, among other entrees.   • February 13 from 5-8pm Thrive @ Holidays: Banchetto D'Amore (Feast of Love in Italian) at the Steel Magnolia Kitchen (G And 16th). Think a safe and satisfying Italian feast is beyond your gluten-free, dairy-free, allergen-free hopes? Think again! Indulge in a wonderful meal and develop your cooking skills at the same time with this celebration of love, food, and love of good food. We’ll prepare—and then devour—easy breadsticks, light minestrone, Caesar salad, lasagna, and then (maybe not quite Italian but definitely amazing) chocolate pudding cake.
