We'll start by preparing insalata misto, a salad of greens with finely chopped and marinated vegetables and toasted walnuts. We'll then prepare two delicious pizzas: a risen-crust pesto pizza with roasted vegetables (vegan) and a traditional thin-crust pizza with pastured pork sausage and mushrooms. We'll finish up by preparing some heavenly chewy chocolate chip cookies; then we'll sit down to enjoy the repast. How do you say 'delicious' in Italian?

This class is centered around one of the great pleasures of the weekend: homemade bread. We’ll make two loaves of fabulous, safe sandwich bread. To accompany it, we’ll prepare two organic soups: a riff on Julia Child's French onion soup and a vegan smoky split pea soup. For dessert, we’ll make my husband's favorite dessert: mesquite chocolate chip cookies with roasted pecans. Then we’ll sit to talk and enjoy our meal together. It’s the kind of weekend day that makes you sigh with satisfaction.
